It's hard to highlight only one aspect. For me, it's a combination of the innovative design, the emphasis on real-world issues, the focus on developing classroom and consulting skills as well as research acumen, and the diversity of faculty.

What kind of candidates are you hoping to see join this program?

Candidates who are curious. People who want to develop research skills that can have an impact not just on the development of theory, but to help solve real problems. They also need an appetite for learning in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative business school.

How would describe your teaching philosophy?

I teach practical skills that are relevant in today’s fast-changing environment. I train students to think creatively, take innovative risks, and think outside the box. You only improve business when you challenge the status quo.

It's so important to bring real business experience to academia. Theories are only good in as much as they help to solve real problems in real life.”

How did you approach designing the Hult DBA?

For me, perhaps unsurprisingly given my specialism, designing the new program was an entrepreneurial exercise. We recognized a growing international demand for doctorate degrees, we analyzed the programs offered by other business schools, and we identified the opportunity for us to offer a unique DBA. It's this type of problem-solving approach that makes Hult the most relevant business school.

In what way is the program unique?

In these VUCA times, old answers to old questions are no longer enough. The Hult DBA equips professionals with the mindset, the toolkit, and the skills to ask new, relevant questions and challenges them to answer those questions with a rigorous, data-driven, scientific approach. This is a critical leadership skill during uncertain times.
