… The story is still being written …

Last April, three weeks after Hult had proactively closed all of our campuses, the Alumni team sat down on Zoom to start our planning for the 2020 Hult Alumni Magazine digital supplement, scheduled to go live in late fall 2020. We thought that working from home would be short-term and that we would be back on campus by August for graduation. As we always do, we brainstormed themes for the magazine and “resilience” stood out as appropriate. We were hearing of lots of stories of remote work from our alums, some layoffs, some folks stuck in travel. We thought that Hult grads were likely full of interesting approaches to what we believed was simply a temporary shutdown. Little did we know how profoundly each of our lives and careers would be impacted by the pandemic and how our day-to-day work would be transformed. Thinking back, we didn’t then know the depth of stories, struggles, and challenges we would hear from our alumni. Nor did we expect to hear from so many alumni calling in to help the school, volunteer to mentor a student, or host an educational webinar for the community. Frankly, we were deeply moved by the candid stories of resilience we heard. We felt incredibly proud of how our community was adapting, coping, working through setbacks and coming through the pandemic that—as this publication goes live—is still an on-going global crisis.
Since the ending of the pandemic is a story still being written, we’re sharing these alumni stories as they came to us at the time, with all photographs and content coming directly from the alumni themselves. We hope that this real-time sharing will help you appreciate the amazing resiliency of your colleagues and celebrate the diverse and thriving Hult community that we’re all a part of. Best wishes, Your Alumni Relations Team
